TARA is back, offering up her first release of 2024 with the single ‘I Need You’. The track builds its distinctive soundscape from the first moment, blending ethereal instrumentation with a driven kick drum that creates a momentous feel. Electric guitar melodies lie on swirling synth pads, while TARA’s lead vocal soars through rich harmonies. ‘I Need You’ absolutely nails the balance between radiant simplicity and emotive atmospheres, pulling the listener into flourishing musicality.
TARA shares, “I wrote this song during one of the Covid lockdowns and it came together pretty quickly. I finished the whole thing in less than a day, that doesn't usually happen. I was so happy. It was about a boy I had a thing for at the time (the usual lol), but he kept giving me mixed signals so I just had to get my frustration out in a song! As I've grown up, the meaning of the song has grown with me, and I no longer think about that boy who gave me mixed signals, ha!”
Born and raised in Dublin, TARA is currently studying at the LIPA. As she progresses TARA finds herself writing a blend of Dublin’s warmth with Scouse-music heritage, working to become the next fresh sound.
Recently, TARA collaborated with Irish DJ Fahri Mac, utilising her strong Irish tone to create a unique-sounding dance anthem that reached north of 100,000 streams on Soundcloud. Continuously showing a dedication to the pursuit of a life in music, TARA is certainly one to watch for 2024.
