MATT MCMANAMON HAS RELEASED HIS LATEST SIGNLE 'CIRCLES IN THE SKY'

‘Circles In The Sky’ is the new single from Liverpudlian-Irish singer-songwriter Matt McManamon. The track is the lead single from his upcoming ‘Seventy Two Hours’ EP via Fretsore Records. It follows 2021’s critically acclaimed debut solo album ‘Scally Folk’ which marked a change of direction for the Dead 60s’ hitmaker.

McManamon states, “I had seen one of these ‘Inspirational Quotes’ online that seem to be all the rage these days, which went something like this: “If You Have Tried And Failed, Well done. . Most People Don’t Even try!” This concept resonated with me, and influenced the lyrics and subject matter.

The line and title ‘Circles In The Sky’ however came from a memory I had of myself, wife & kids sunbathing in the garden one glorious summer (which doesn’t happen that often on the West Coast of Ireland) and we would play a game, where you had to draw an imaginary picture or shape into the sky with your finger, and we’d take turns in guessing what imaginary shape or image each had drawn.

Matt McManamon is a Liverpudlian-Irish singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Dead 60s. His debut solo album ‘Scally Folk’ release via Fretsore Records in 2021 was received to critical acclaim and supported by the likes of BBC Introducing, Metro, Irish Daily Mail, Louder Than War and RTE Radio 1.

During his tenure as frontman and hitmaker for The Dead 60s, McManamon toured with the likes of Morrissey, Kasabian, and Deltasonic label mates The Coral, appearing on stages from Glastonbury to Top of the Pops. Releasing their self-titled debut in 2005, the band scored 5 UK top 40 hits and surpassed over 100k sales in the UK alone. Prior to launching his solo career, Matt also toured with The Specials as their live guitarist.
